Dream Team’s Vision in Action: Behind the Scenes of the My Imperial Campus App
Events
Experience the excitement of our Keynote Workshop at Imperial College London's Great Hall, where we unveiled the vision and progress of the My Imperial Campus app through engaging talk, interactive feedback sessions, and lively community discussions.
Overview
On February 29th, we hosted a truly inspiring Keynote Workshop in Imperial College London's Great Hall, where we shared the vision and progress of the new My Imperial Campus app. This event was a milestone for our Dream Team squad, showcasing months of dedicated work and collaboration, built on the principle of students creating for students.
The atmosphere was electric, as we combined TED-style keynote talks with engaging roundtable discussions and feedback sessions. Our aim? To connect directly with the student community, hear their thoughts, and ensure their voices guide the design and functionality of the app.
A Vision Crafted by Students, for Students
The new My Imperial Campus app is more than just an innovation – it’s a student-driven initiative. From day one, our approach has been rooted in collaboration. We’ve conducted surveys, run user groups, and created open events to make sure the app reflects what students truly need and want.
At the Keynote, we shared not only our progress but also the story behind the research process. The enthusiasm and feedback we’ve received have been invaluable. It’s clear that when you engage the very people you’re designing for, the results are richer, more relevant, and more meaningful.
An Event to Remember
The workshop wasn’t just about presentations. The roundtables created an opportunity for lively discussions where students could share feedback and insights that we’re already working to implement. Between the sessions, we kept things informal and fun with pizza, beer, great music, and a vibrant atmosphere.
It was fantastic to see students engaging face-to-face with the project, excited to shape the tools they’ll use every day. Their input has made a significant impact, and we left the event feeling inspired and motivated to keep pushing forward.
A Collaborative Journey
We’re thrilled that the feedback from the workshop has been overwhelmingly positive, as captured on video by the talented Digital Media Lab team. Events like these underline our commitment to creating a student-first experience. We’d like to extend our thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to making the day such a success.
