Appternoon Tea: My Imperial Campus App at the Welcome Week Fair
Events
We kicked off the new academic year with our first-ever Appternoon Tea, serving biscuits, ideas, and plenty of excitement around the future of the My Imperial Campus app.
Welcoming New Students to Imperial
As the new academic year began, DreamTeam joined the Welcome Week Fair to greet incoming students and celebrate the start of term with the My Imperial Campus app project. The app, which now has more than 20,000 downloads across the Imperial community, continues to grow as the go-to digital space for campus life.
Our aim was to meet students in person, hear their feedback, and share the exciting new features and updates that are on the way. The event brought together new and returning students who were keen to learn more about how the app supports everyday life at Imperial.
Introducing “Appternoon Tea”
To give the event a warm and inviting atmosphere, we created a concept we called "Appternoon Tea". Inspired by the classic British afternoon tea, we combined technology and tradition in a light-hearted way that invited students to stop by, chat, and connect. We offered beautifully designed branded biscuits, featuring the My Imperial Campus app logo created by our designer, Marco Miotti, and they were as delicious as they looked.
Conversations That Shape the Future
Throughout the afternoon, our team engaged with hundreds of students who shared thoughtful feedback and creative ideas. From feature requests to personal experiences, these conversations provided us with valuable insights into how students use the app and what they hope to see next.
The enthusiasm was contagious. Many new students downloaded the app on the spot, while returning students told us how it has already become part of their daily routine. Hearing their stories reminded us why the project matters, as it is about making campus life easier, more connected, and more personal.
A Warm Start to the Year
Our "Appternoon Tea" was a wonderful way to begin the academic year. It blended design, technology, and community in one cheerful celebration of student life. This event was more than a marketing opportunity; it was a conversation with the community that would shape the app’s next chapter.
